Romans 10:5-13 | Closer Than You Think (Zach Fallon)

1. The Righteousness We Cannot Establish (10:5)

  • The law says “do”
  • We cannot establish our own righteousness
  • There is nothing left for us to establish

2. The Salvation We Cannot Reach Has Come Near (10:6–8)

  • You do not bring Christ down. He came
  • You do not bring Christ up. God raised Him
  • The word is near
  • To believe is to receive the Christ who has come near

3. The Word Near You Calls for Faith (10:9–10)

  • The heart believes that God raised Jesus from the dead
  • The mouth confesses that Jesus is Lord
  • One faith, inside and out
  • Stop inspecting the hand. Look at Christ

4. The Lord Rich Enough for All (10:11–13)

  • Everyone who believes will not be put to shame
  • There is no distinction. The same Lord is Lord of all
  • The Lord is rich toward all who call on Him
  • Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved
