1. Humbled Before the Potter (9:19–21)

• The clay has no claim
• It is the same lump
• The creature can ask without standing over the Creator

2. Astonished by His Mercy (9:22–24)

• He is astonishingly patient
• He prepares vessels of mercy for glory
• His great purpose is to display the riches of his glory in mercy
• And those vessels are “even us whom he has called”

3. Settled by His Word (9:25–29)

• Hosea: God calls outsiders his people
• Isaiah: religious privilege cannot save
• The remnant itself is evidence of mercy
• Therefore, God's Word has not failed
